blues and greys

beautiful! I saw this painting on an art blog, and now I can't remember where or who did it, but It was done around 1850's or 1890's by an American artist ... Love this tonal painting.

  1. It indeed looks great! It also looks very much like the Normandy coastline. I saw a photo exhibition last year with photo's of Normandy and it's coastline and here several of them in a magazine. Here's one of them that I found on the net http://www.hommepage.fr/photo/index.php?name=ellena&gallery=galerie. (I myself used it for a watercolour sketch a while ago). Perhaps knowing (or guessing) that this painting is based on this coastline can help you find the artist. Good luck!
