wooden emperor

finally finished up this painting today. I found the picture of a wooden emperor statue from Japan's past era in one of my art history books, and thought I'd give it a shot in paint. It was definitely a challenge, but a lot of fun, and I can see a little more how the paint brushes work each time I do intricate pieces like this one.
