Do you ever look at tarot art? The Strength card often depicts a woman who has "subdued" or made friends with a lion.

I don't know a whole lot about the tarot cards, but I've seen some that are really interesting. That idea of taming the lion makes a lot of sense with this piece. This piece is after a sculpture by Heinrich Dannecker: "Ariadne on the Panther". My favorite set for tarot is here:
