held back

the paintings have been a lot of fun lately. I've been working on getting close likenesses, and can see how it's all coming out fairly realistic lately. I think that just getting a good handle on how the paint works is good practice, and once I feel really secure about how it all works, I'll branch out and make different things. So far it's been really interesting how to create moods with color, and direct the eye with contrasts.

    Ester,
that's the most emotionally impactful drawing of yours I've seen yet. I really admire your work but this for me is a new level. It caught my breath, it brought tears to my eyes. Powerful. Really powerful
