That's beautiful, Ester. I love the bit of color going up the side. Is that watercolor or tea/coffee?

Would make a great comic cover.

I dipped my finger in water, then onto the inks of the bird, smearing my finger upwards. I like to get messy in the drawings, and finger painting just winds up happening in every drawing. I was hoping to get a really subtle tone, and pretty happy with the results. I like this piece too. The wide white space is great!

Somehow this makes me feel sad. I suppose it's because I am a bird lover and love to watch them in my yard. It is a beautiful drawing though and great composition.

thanks for your thoughts Toni. I wasn't feeling the most happy yesterday - frustrated, more like it, and I think this piece shows those emotions pretty well.

This is a beautiful piece. It makes me think of a snapping turtle I saw crossing the road today. I was in a hurry and late for a meeting, and didn't stop. I was worried when I got back there would be a big pile of turtle in the road. Fortunately, it made it across. It must be snapping turtle season because this is the second I've seen in two days, and they aren't common in the urban areas.

It's beautiful, and it makes me sad. Incredible work, especially if you can invoke emotions.

I am not happy that you had a rough day, but quite impressed with what you did with it.

I wonder if I might obtain permission to use that illustration for a blog post.

hi craver vii,

I don't mind if you want to use this image for your blog. I put my website address on it, for copyright issues, but it's hardly noticeable.

Thanks for asking. I'm curious what your post will be about. I tried to visit your blog via the link here, and got an error page...it's probably temporary

Thanks a bunch!! I had an idea when I saw the picture.

An error page? I think it's 'cause I'm on a witness protection program. Don't tell anybody this, but Elvis is here too.

I posted the idea I was talking about. Your bird was perfect! I did something with the color on the side, by raising the question as to whether it was going up or down. Thanks again!
